Meghan and Harry to get Sh27 million per event

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry may only be able to get Sh27 million ($250k) per speaking event, an event manager has claimed.

The international consultant said the couple's alleged list of strict demands - which includes who introduces them - may put some clients off booking them for their events.

According to the source, the range of requests Harry and Meghan have are similar to those adopted by the British Royals when they attend events - despite they stepped down as senior members of the Royal Family.

Speaking from New York, the event creator told The Sun: "Harry and Meghan coming on the speaker circuit is certainly as significant as the likes of President Obama or Arnold Schwarzenegger.

"The pair are fascinating, uniquely experienced individuals, who have a wide reach, who would have been a huge draw to a live audience pre-COVID."

The manager said it was previously estimated that the couple's earnings would be between Sh81m ($750k) and Sh108m ($1m) - but realistically the real amount could be between Sh27m ($250k) and Sh43m ($400k).

The source added: "While every speaker has a right to demand the parameters of an appearance, as the price increases often so do the expectations of clients.

"The contract paperwork appears to read that the speakers have full control of the client's event.

"It certainly raises eyebrows and will put off many potential large corporations."

According to a document issued by the Harry Walker Agency, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex demand to know who will moderate their on stage discussions and who has previously spoken at events they are booked for.

The four-page ‘Virtual Event Request Form’ said Harry and Meghan want to know of all “corporations, individuals, members of the organisation and government entities or organisations” associated with the event.

Prospective event organisers are also reportedly required to explain how the online speeches will be streamed in case of technological problems.

Additional speakers will also have to be mentioned as will ticket details and people who have previously appeared at the event.

The document states: "The choice of Introducer and Moderator will be at the final discretion of the Speaker.

“The Fee will need to be paid directly from the contracting organisation’s account."

The event manager said that they have never seen any speaker or paid guest being allowed to "have approval of each aspect of a corporate event, including former US Presidents".

However, they added: "Probing sponsors and corporations for the Sussexes makes sense given how particular they are about issues like the environment, equality and child poverty.

"Another key point is that their interest in the financial and fundraising aspect of charitable causes is smart. The last thing they want to be associated with is an event, which is not successful."

Earlier this month, Harry and Meghan signed a reported Sh16.25 billion ($150m) deal to produce projects for streaming service Netflix.

We revealed how the deal could also include a tribute to Harry's mum Diana.

If it gets the green light Prince William will be informed – but insiders fear it could fuel the brothers’ already painful rift.

A source said: “The Sussexes are discussing making a feature documentary on Princess Diana’s family history and heritage.

“It is early stages but it is looking like it could happen.

“It will work as a tribute to Diana and build on all the incredible charity work she has done.  Netflix would also love to make a documentary about Diana and it is something they have been pushing for.”

If Harry and Meghan’s documentary goes ahead it will cover Diana’s heritage and the incredible legacy she left behind.

If you could pick any place in the world, where would you live?
