Police have
launched a manhunt for a landlord in Kawangware 56 who killed his tenant over
Sh2,500 rent arrears.
The landlord, Ngángá Gitau, is said to have stabbed to death 26-year-old Warren Jirongo after he failed to pay his rent for the month of January.
Residents who described Jirongo as a hardworking man stormed
the landlords compound and set his mabati houses on fire in a bid to protest
the killing.

The angry residents later took to the streets with weapons asking the landlord who has since gone into hiding, to come out.
According to his neighbors, Jirongo who is an orphan,
struggled to make ends meet as he worked as a garbage collector in the area.
