Ex-footballers more likely to develop brain diseases — Study

It has been found that ex-pro ­footballers are more likely to die from ­neurodegenerative brain disease than the general population, but are less likely to die from other common causes such as lung cancer.

In response to the study, the ­Football Association called for research to see whether the findings relate to the “modern day professional footballer”.
