Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) has responded to claims that they lack the capacity to train, evaluate and preside over a graduation ceremony for more than 118 PhD students at once.

In a statement addressed to members of the public from the office of the academic registrar, the institution noted that the 118 students had been in class since 2010 and that they earned the degrees awarded to them two weeks ago.

Commission for University Education (CUE) last week noted that they are following up on the issue to confirm whether the institution followed the legal process in awarding the PhDs.
