All systems go for Choma na Ngoma

Monday Blues
It will be a show-down of the who-is-who in Africa.

The biggest music bonanza Choma na Ngoma is back for the second season. The show which will be taking place on Friday night at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), promises to be bigger and better from the build-up.

It will be a show-down of the who-is-who in Africa featuring Nigeria’s Patoranking, Tanzania’s Nandy, Democratic Republic of Congo’s Alicios and Kenya’s Sauti Sol, Willy Paul ad H_Art the Band. The show is sponsored by The Standard Group.

Patoranking

The Nigerian launched his much anticipated album over the weekend. The album ‘Wilmer’ consists of 12 songs with six singles and six collaborations and he says it was inspired by his daughter, who is also the face of the album.

Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, D’banj and 2Face Idibia were among the guests at the launch. The album has already received positive reviews from the BBC and Friday promises to be a show to remember if the ratings given by BBC are anything to go by.

Nandy

Nandy has been ruling the East African airwaves with Ninogeshe and her collaborations with Willy Paul. The singer recently launched her album at the Golden Ice club which left her Kenyan fans yearning for more of her performances.

Lately she has been in the news after she was picked from the airport by a high end vehicle that has led to speculation that she might be dating a Tanzanian tycoon.

Sauti Sol

They are arguably one of the biggest bands in Africa if not the biggest. They will be gracing the stage for the second year running and what a performance they put up last year. Following the success of their LP Afrikan Sauce, this will be a showcase of their talent that went into it.

Willy Paul

His move from the gospel scene has been met with criticism, but he is doing well in the secular world if his collaborations with Nandy and Rayvanny are anything to go by.

The singer is among the top performers in the country and Nandy being in the list of performances we expect a show to remember from the two.

H_Art the Band

The Uliza Kiatu hit makers never disappoint with their performances. Their music is one to live for and Friday offers a chance to relive the beautiful moments they create in the music.
