It's been a long two years since Beyoncé released any form of new solo music after the smash hit that was Lemonade.

She sent the Beyhive into meltdown when not only did she release a surprise live album to coincide with the launch of her Netflix documentary Homecoming, but included a brand new studio track.

It may be a cover of the 1981 Frankie Beverly and Maze track Before I Let Go, but it's still new and has Bey's signature beat all over it.

The new track plays over the credits at the end of the film and includes samples from the classic Candy track Cameo.

The surprise record is a collection of 40 live tracks, performed by the Crazy in Love singer at Coachella 2017.

And Before I Let You Go isn't the first time that Bey has covered the track, first attempting the cover with Destiny's Child back in 1997 but it remained unreleased.

It resurfaced years later when a bootlegged version was released after the group broke up.

Queen Bey's history-making Coachella set was a big-band filled tribute to America's black culture with cameos from her sister Solange and a Destiny's Child reunion - which features on the album.

The film was released worldwide on today on Netflix, which marked roughly a year since the Coachella performance which was nicknamed by fans as Beychella.

Bey celebrated a historic moment for both the music festival and herself saying: “Coachella, thank you for allowing me to be the first black woman to headline,” she said, making the perfect introduction to “Run the World (Girls).”

The hotly-anticipated film is also set to include interviews from before, during and after the show.

In both weekends of the Californian festival last year Bey brought out her husband Jay Z, her Destiny's Child band members Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland.

She also speaks about the birth of her twins Rumi and Sir in the documentary, explaining that she had to undergo an emergency cesarean.

New Beyoncé documentary 'Homecoming' will show never before seen home videos of the star.
