VIDEO: Joho was my classmate in adult education, says Echesa

In a video recording shared on his Facebook page, Rashid Echesa, former Cabinet Secretary for Sports Culture and Heritage, revealed that Mombasa County Governor Hassan Joho was his classmate in an adult education class he enrolled in owing to his low-level education.

“Mimi vile nilipewa kazi ya uaziri, munajua masomo ilikua chini, nikasema niende kwa kumbaru kumbaru, kwa hiyo kumbaru nilienda yulenilipita ni Joho (upon being appointed as Cabinet Secretary, you all know my education level was low, I enrolled in an adult education where I found Joho)”, said Echesa.

Echesa further claimed that Governor Joho under performed in the adult education hence making him incompetent to compete with the Deputy President William Ruto.

The former CS also wedged war at COTU secretary Francis Atwoli for saying the Deputy President William Ruto will not be in the ballot and instead endorsed Governor Joho presidency. He scolded him for purporting to influence voters on whom not to or to elect in 2022 elections.

Being a CS then, perhaps Rashid Echesa had limits dictating his public utterances.

He might have ignored many skating attacks on him, ostensibly for being a die hard follower of William Ruto and lacking university education, but being a free man has rendered him to be outspoken and hard-hitting on his critics.

His unceremonious exit from the plum job, however, without any reference reason, has seemingly left the former sports CS with no option than to reveal his true character.
