Harambee Stars coach Sebastian Migne says he is tired of the constant money issues surrounding the national football team in the wake of reports they may miss this weekend’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Ghana in Accra.

The Frenchman wants the government to take seriously the team’s preparations if they are to maintain their otherwise impressive form.

He spoke yesterday, one day after Football Kenya Federation (FKF) complained it has not received the Sh244 million promised by the government to help them prepare for the match and other up-coming fixtures.

“It is difficult to compete, leave alone prepare a team when you have such worries and I am tired to work in such an environment. I have given my all but it reaches a point when one gets tired,” he said as Stars reported to camp for the Sunday fixture.

The federation said they forfeited tickets on a Kenya Airways flight on Tuesday after failing to pay on time and now hope to catch an Ethiopian Airlines flight on Thursday.

This, however, is not guaranteed depending on when the government will release money to FKF.

Migne said they could be forced to travel in two batches, something he warned was not good for the team spirit.

“It is already difficult to play Ghana and we urge the government to take our preparations seriously by providing us with what is needed and at the right time,” he said.

Away from the unending money issues, Migne has challenged former Kariobangi Sharks striker Masoud Juma to show his best against Black Stars of Ghana.

Juma is the only player assured to start against the Black Stars in the absence of injured Michael Olunga.

“He (Juma) is assured of starting against Ghana and this is a great opportunity for him to show what he can do. This is a golden chance for him and he must take it with both hands,” said Migne.

Migne also urged his charges to remain humble in the return match against Ghana despite having beaten the Black Stars 1-0 in Nairobi during the first leg in September.

“It was a huge surprise to beat Ghana at home and going for the return leg, we must seek to stay humble. It is also a good thing to have most of the players in camp ahead of the fixture,” said Migne.

Team captain Victor Wanyama said he is glad to be back in the side after a long lay off due to injury.

“This is a match like any other and we are looking to pick a positive result. Personally, it is great to be back and to lead the boys in Accra,” said Wanyama
