Villagers in Ndoswa location in Nakuru County are still in shock after a young man last Tuesday killed his father over Sh100.

Erick Kibiwott was so furious that his father could not raise Sh200, which he had demanded for and instead only gave him Sh100.

The 30-year-old was upset and picked a quarrel with his 65-year-old father, claiming that he knew he had the money but had chosen to deny him.

While accusing the aging Wilson Chepkocho of being a miser, the young man picked an axe and used it to hack his head.

According to the deceased’s wife, Kobilo Chepyegon, their son arrived home at around 6.30pm and approached his father, demanding the said amount of cash. But when the old man could not raise it, the unfortunate happened.

“He was angry that his father didn’t give him all the amount he had demanded and could only afford Sh100. He hacked him, killing him instantly,” said Kobilo.

Kibiwott ran away but irate residents got hold of him a day later at Lawina centre and beat him to death. Chepkicho’s body is lying at the Elburgon sub-county hospital morgue awaiting autopsy.
