Kabogo’s Twitter blunder subjects him to ridicule from netizens

Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo on Wednesday mistakenly mourned legendary music producer Quincy Jones instead of deceased American singer James Ingram.

He quickly realized his mistake and rectified it but not before he was pinned down for the error.

“I mourn Quincy Jones. May his soul Rest in Peace,” wrote Kabogo before deleting the tweet and writing, ”I mourn James Ingram. May his soul Rest In Peace. A legend he will always be.”

Screenshots of his first post had already been shared online and netizens wasted no time in educating him.

“You should have apologised to Quincy Jones instead of pulling down the tweet. The internet never forgets,” wrote Peter Bravo.

“Human is to error...Atleast it’s corrected now..RiP Legend,” wrote Herman Ndichu.

“We see what you did right there,” added Gatu Kirubi.

James Ingram passed away on Wednesday aged 66 and is best known for his chart-topping songs of the 80s, such as Baby Come To Me, a duet with Patti Austin, and Somewhere Out There, a duet with Linda Rondstadt.

He was nominated for another 12 Grammys during his career.
