Newborn baby's body found in women's toilet bin

A newborn baby has been found dead in a rubbish bin inside a women's toilet at an Amazon warehouse, according to reports.

Police and paramedics were called to the facility in the US city of Phoenix, Arizona, at 8.30pm local time.

The baby was "beyond resuscitation" when the emergency services arrived at the fulfilment centre, police told local media.

Warehouse operations continued while police were investigating on scene.

Police told ABC 15 that the baby was discovered inside a rubbish bin in a toilet inside the Amazon warehouse.

Officers were called to reports of a dead baby inside a women's toilet, Fox 10 reported.

Fire officials later confirmed that the baby had died.

Images show officers on scene and a cordon of yellow police tape around part of the Amazon facility in west Phoenix.

Mirror Online has contacted Amazon for comment.

An spokesperson told ABC 15 that Amazon - the world's largest internet company - was cooperating with the police investigation.

Phoenix is the same city where a brain-damaged woman in a vegetative state for more than a decade recently gave birth to a baby at a care home.

Police have launched a rape investigation and demanded DNA from male employees of the Hacienda health centre.

Staff had no idea the 29-year-old woman was pregnant until she gave birth, it was reported.
