A waiter who survived the terrorist attack at dusitD2 has narrated how he survived despite coming face to face with the killers.

The waiter’s life was spared but the terrorists asked him why Kenyan Forces were still killing their brothers and sisters in Somalia.

“Why are you killing our brothers and sisters in Somalia? They no longer attend Madrassa,” one of the attackers reportedly asked.

The attack has been strongly condemned by various leaders led by President Uhuru Kenyatta who confirmed that all the attackers had been killed.

NASA leader Raila Odinga also issued a statement on the matter and sent his condolences to those who had lost loved ones in the cowardly attack.

Interior CS Fred Matiang’i, on his part, thanked Kenyans of goodwill for their support saying ‘the enemy has been defeated.’

He also singled out GSU commandant Douglas Kanja for his diligence and professionalism during the incident.

“I thank all our security agencies, who worked in seamless coordination, to neutralize the security threat at 14 Riverside Drive.

“In particular, I single out Mr. Douglas Kanja, the GSU Commandant who led the security operation with distinct diligence and professionalism,” wrote the CS on his Twitter handle.
