Raila inspired me — KCPE top achiever reveals

A top candidate in the recently released 2018 KCPE examination results has revealed how NASA leader Raila Odinga inspired him.

Embu’s top KCPE student Telvin Gichuki scored 434 marks and expressed desire to pursue Civil Engineering just like Odinga.

He further added that the former Prime Minister is his role model and inspired him to work hard.

“The former Prime Minister has been my role model and inspired me to work hard so that I can be a civil engineer like him," said Gichuki.

He further added that engineering will offer him an opportunity to contribute towards the development of infrastructure.

Gichuki attributed his performance to hard work and prayer, revealing that he often woke up early even during public holidays to study.

"Even during public holidays, I woke up early to study keeping in mind the teachers' instructions.

I also prayed regularly," he said.

Form one selection is set to start on December 3 and according to Education Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed, the exercise will be done only once unlike previous years.
