Varsity student kidnapped alongside NMG reporter found dead

Second year student Sharon Otieno who was kidnapped alongside Nation Journalist Barrack Oduor on Monday in Migori has been found dead.

Sharon, who was a student at Rongo University went missing on Monday evening and her body was found dumped in Kodera Forest, Homa Bay County.

Speaking to Nation, Sharon’s father Douglas Otieno confirmed his daughter’s body at the Oyugis Level Four Hospital in Oyugis.

Medical reports also show that the student was pregnant.

Mr Oduor said that he was investigating a love gone sour between Sharon and a prominent Governor when the incident happened.

Both Sharon and Oduor were kidnapped after they were lured out of Graca Hotel in Rongo.

The journalist was seriously injured after he jumped out of the speeding vehicle to escape from the kidnappers.
