Boni Khalwale’s tweet on Wamalwa’s anniversary gets him in trouble

Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale was trolled on Thursday 23 August after saying that Former Kenya’s Vice Presdient Kijana Michael Wamalwa died 25 years ago.

Wamalwa died on August 23, 2003, at Royal Free Hospital in London while receiving treatment.

Boni took to his Twitter handle to recall the moments they shared when Wamalwa he was still alive.

“Exactly 25 years ago Kijana Wamalwa left us. Am here remembering the great moments we shared at the same hotel he officially opened & patronized, at exactly the same spot where he used to sit. This portrait on the wall here at the place sums it all up. Mike, was a great man!,”Boni posted.

His post, which was meant to commemorate Wamalwa’s anniversary turned ugly as Kenyans on social media trolled him for the ‘mathematical error’.

Kijana Wamalwa, an alumnus of Cambridge University and London School of Economics was a lawyer and a Shakespeare-quoting lover of classical music and Tom & Jerry cartoons.

His wife, Yvonne Wamalwa, died in January 25 2018 after developing health compliactions.
