Senator Orengo lashed out at Murkomen for blaming ODM Leader Raila Odinga for the ongoing Mau evictions

Earlier in the week Murkomen said officials carrying out the evictions had gone outside the forest and were forcefully ejecting people out of their homes

Siaya Senator James Orengo has launched a scathing attack on Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen over his recent sentiments on Mau Forest evictions.

Senator Orengo lashed out at Murkomen for reportedly blaming ODM leader Raila Odinga for the ongoing evictions and also disrespecting President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“Can Murkomen really claim to be in Government and the evictions are ongoing and he has no answer except to blame Raila?’’ asked Orengo in the video that has since gone viral.

The celebrated lawyer also uttered some unflattering words towards Murkomen that Ureport cannot publish for legal reasons.

Earlier in the week Murkomen said officials carrying out the evictions had gone outside the forest and were forcefully ejecting people out of their homes, yet they had genuine title deeds.

“Some people who recently joined the Government through the backdoor are working with some officials to remove people from Mau.

“The Mau is not about Murkomen, it can never be. It is about conservation. It is about the 4,000 children in 10 schools, who are not going to school. It is about the people being chased out of their homes with valid title deeds, and who are outside the forest,” he said.

Murkomen seems to have changed his stand on the Mau evictions following a Tuesday evening meeting of North and South rift Members of Parliament (MPs) at the Weston Hotel in Nairobi.

The Senate Majority leader indicated he would follow President Uhuru and DP William Ruto’s instructions on the matter.

The vocal lawyer also said MPs would be meeting regularly to discuss matters that touch on their welfare and the region's politics.
