Babu Owino slams police, urges government to let in Miguna

Miguna Miguna's return into the country from Canada has caused a lot of last-minute series of saga in the country specifically at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) since his return on Monday afternoon.

Embakasi East 'sitting' Member of Parliament Babu Owino has condemned the Kenya police following how they have been handling Miguna Miguna at the JKIA.

Babu linked the behavior of the police to corruption during recruitment citing that the government recruits police basing on "number of teeth, sir names, bribes and height"

"Our police service is messed beyond redemption. This is what happens when you employ people based on the number of teeth, sir names, bribes and height. Sad," he wrote.

He went ahead to explain that what Miguna Miguna went through during the Monday night stand at the airport was heartbreaking and inhumane.

He concluded that Miguna Miguna should be allowed to get back into his country, Kenya in total peace especially now that President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga has reconciled and promised to join hands in uniting Kenyans.

"What happened to Miguna Miguna when patriots were asleep last night is heartbreaking and inhumane! Miguna must be let back into his motherland in the true spirit of peace and reconciliation which was initiated by HE Raila Odinga and HE Uhuru Kenya. Kenya first," Babu added

Miguna Miguna has been denied entry into the country after failing to provide visa that shows he is a Kenyan citizen. He was forced to fly to Dubai but refused to argue that he has no passport, no connection, no home and no work in Dubai and is currently held at the JKIA.
