Find out why Nairobi residents have expressed displeasure in Mike Sonko

Nairobi residents have expressed displeasure in Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko’s performance since he took office.

Armed with a list of promises the county boss outlined in his manifesto, the residents used funny, sarcastic, and fierce messages to express their dissatisfaction with the governor’s failure to fulfill his promises.

Top of the list of complaints was the biting water shortage amid flooding, garbage pile-up, hawkers’ menace and increased insecurity in the city centre.

“Mike Sonko promised to perform 'radical surgery' on the ailing county 047 in 100 days to solve problems that had crippled Nairobi. You’re now approaching the end of your first-year in office, with nothing to smile about,” said Kevin Kiprui.

Under a hashtag that took Twitter by storm, Sonko was accused of shifting all blame to the former administration.

He was urged to take responsibility for the mess.

“Former governor Evans Kidero cannot be continuously used as a scapegoat for problems bedeviling Nairobi City County. The city is stinking from the head,” said a tweep identified as Sospeter.
