Lawmaker blames cartels for losing House election

Yesterday, we recounted to you a tale about a suave first time MP who had been reduced to a laughing stock among his colleagues, after failing to get even a single vote during elections for head of a house committee.

Well, the legislator who later clarified that he had earlier withdrawn from the race now blames corruption cartels for his poor show.

The man explained on Twitter that the cartels wouldn’t allow him be at the helm of the crucial oversight committee, since he is stickler to the rule of law and would have put the government on toes like he did in his earlier life as a senior state officer.
