Chelsea in a swap deal to give Michy Batshuayi for AS Monaco forward Thomas Lemar

According to the Telegraph, Chelsea is ready to include Michy Batshuayi in a swap deal to land AS Monaco forward Thomas Lemar.

The Blues are looking to add some quality to their ranks this season after falling off the title race in the Premier League and risking falling out of the Champions League knockout with a tie against Barcelona in the round of 16, following a less than impressive showing in the group stage of the competition.

A January acquisition will boost the Blues squad significantly, and Matt Law of the Telegraph suggests Batshuayi, who is currently not being favored by Antonio Conte, will be used as a bargaining tool in the negotiations to bring in Lemar from Monaco.

Batshuayi has started only three games in the Premier League and Champions League combined and is constantly overlooked for a starting berth when Alvaro Morata is absent in tough games.

Instead, Eden Hazard is used as a false nine and flanked by Willian and Pedro in a 3-4-3 formation. The Belgian winger might favor the move abroad in the deal to sign Lemar for a fee the Telegraph report claims is around £80 million.
