Manchester United or Barcelona? Ozil tells pals where he’s headed next

Mesut Ozil is a wanted man.

The German playmaker has been on Top European clubs’ radar for the past year, as he has not been a constant performer for Arsenal.

Arsenal, who are currently seventh in the Premier League are well off the pace and with the January transfer window approaching, it looks highly unlikely that the attacking midfielder will stay in London.

Though there are reports about Arsenal enticing him with another bumper contract, it will be difficult to keep him at the Emirates considering his wage bill and Arsenal’s poor season.

According to The Metro, Ozil has told close friends that he wants to re-join Jose Mourinho at Manchester United, with the pair already having worked together in Mourinho’s successful season at Real Madrid.

This looks highly likely since Barcelona already has a number 10 (Lionel Messi), who doesn’t look like he’s letting his place in the first squad slip to anyone.

Mourinho is also in need of a good attacking midfielder who can play in any part of the pitch and Ozil looks like a suitor.
