There was a leading boy in the 2017 KCPE, Kenyans are reminded amidst 'support the boy child' talks

After Education Cabinet Secretary, Dr. Fred Matiang’i announced the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results for 2017, Goldalyn Kakuya became a household name.

Goldalyn is the young girl of St Anne Junior Lubao in Kakamega County who led the 2017 class eight pupils after scoring 455 out of the possible 500 marks.

Goldalyn had her glory as she met the president twice in the week that followed the announcement.

According to Eugene’s teacher and mother, he has not always topped his class but his emotional balance is a strong trait that makes him successful in whatever he envisions.

Speaking about the girl who took all the credit for best performance, Eugene says he hasn’t spoken to her but he would love to call and congratulate her.

Eugene who is set to join Alliance Boys high school admits he is aware of the task he has on his shoulders as many boys and girls from Kitrinyaga will look upon him.
