IEBC expresses relief after Supreme Court ruling

Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has embraced the ruling by the Supreme Court saying that it is evident that it conducted a free and fair election during the October 26 repeat presidential poll.

IEBC has been under scrutiny since the August 8 elections were nullified under claims that the commission did not conduct a free, fair and credible process.

The decision by the SCoK is a big relief for IEBC since a second nullification would put it under even more disgrace.

IEBC said that they await the forthcoming begin of post-election evaluation as well as initiatives aimed at developing the institution and promoting electoral democracy.On Twitter, IEBC said;

Lesson we should all learn: Never lie low and give way to a bully. Congratulations the entire team. Lots of lessons learnt. God is good.

You're disgusting and confused as always in law and the constitution. It's either the case or petition that lacked merit. But you didn't follow the constitution and the law.— GeorgeMoraraMomanyi (@gmoraramo) November 20, 2017
