The National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga yesterday said that he expected Uhuru Kenyatta to welcome him at the Jomo Kenyatta International airport (JKIA) after his 10 day visit to the United States.
While addressing his supporters at Upper Hill, Nairobi, Mr. Odinga said that the president intead ‘’chose to spend time with his deputy William Ruto.’’
He further criticized the police for using force on his supporters who went to peacefully receive him at the airport.
Raila thanked his supporters for receiving him at the JKIA yesterday and for turning out in large numbers. He added that his anger has been triggered by President Uhuru and his Deputy Ruto that instead of welcoming him back to the country, they sent police to teargas him and his supporters, terming it as cruel.
The opposition leader further said that the American people had pledged to support his fight for ‘’political change’’ in the country.
He finished by conveying greetings from the Americans who, according to Raila, said that they are praying for Kenya and have assured him of their support in his quest for change.
