The National super Alliance (NASA) leaders were present at his home, including Siaya Senator James Orengo, Suna East MP Junet Mohammed and former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama.

According to police, they had earlier recovered AK 47 rifles and ammunition in Wanigi’s Malindi home.

We got a tipoff from the public and we carried out the dawn raid from 12 am to 11 am. Investigations are ongoing. We also found three used cartridges and we want to find out where it was used and for what purpose,” said Malindi OCPD Matawa Muchangi.

In reaction to this, Kenyans took to social media to say what they feel about the raid:

Malindi gun story is a decoy, NIS just wanted an excuse to search Jimmy Wanjigi 's home & I doubt if they'll find whatever they're looking 4— Ike Kenneth (@IkeOjuok) October 16, 2017
