A man who allegedly beat his wife to death after he found her in bed with another man has been arrested.
Police said Evans Chomba Kamande allegedly beat Nancy Muthoni Kabuthia with a log after he found her naked with another man.
The incident left residents of Gitero village in Nyeri County in shock.
Kamande, a businessman, is said to have been tipped off by neighbours who had seen the two lovers entering the house.
The neighbours had allegedly warned him about his unfaithful wife.
Police identified Muthoni’s lover as Isaiah Githaiga Kamunyu. Kamande is said to have attacked the two using a log, beating them mercilessly.
Police said Muthoni who was saved by neighbours who heard her scream, succumbed to her injuries at Nyeri Provincial Hospital.
Nyeri OCPD Muinde Kioko said Muthoni was hit on the head with a blunt object.
The two were arraigned before Resident Magistrate Philip Mutua who ordered police to investigate the matter before they are charged with murder.
The husband and the “mpango wa kando” will remain in police custody for the next eight days until investigations are completed.
