Boy believed to be Babu Owino's successor dies in fatal car crash

By Ian Duncan | September 29th 2017

A University of Nairobi student died on the spot after his car was involved in a fatal accident.

Gaylord Okinda was driving along the Southern Bypass on September 23 when he was involved in a fatal road accident.

Okinda had shown interest in occupying the Students Organisation of Nairobi University (SONU) seat which was left vacant by firebrand politician Babu Owino who was elected Embakasi East MP in August.

Students from the university held a vigil in his honor on September 25 at the school’s Freedom Corner, where he was remembered by many as a generous man.
