Two politicians behind Govenor Alfred Mutua's woes in Machakos

Despite claiming to have an outstanding development record against all governors, Machakos County governor Alfred Mutua is having a hard time campaigning for his reelection in August as he faced hostility over the weekend.

Mavoko residents pelted stones at the governor forcing him to abandon his rally and he has moved to accuse the intolerance on his top challenger Wavinya Ndeti and Mavoko MP Patrick Makau of being behind the woes.

The governor is reported to have been booed and mention of his new outfit Maendeleo Chap Chap was accompanied by Wiper and NASA chants from the crowds.

The residents claim that the governor had ignored Mavoko since his election and that he had not delivered on his pledges to the area.

Governor Mutua also failed to get audience at Kapa area and Mlolongo where residents refused to listen to his address.

Wiper Party will field Wavinya Ndeti in an attempt to dislodge the governor from office.

Maendeleo Chap Chap declared supporting President Kenyatta’s bid for a second term and will be key in ensuring that the President gets a share of votes from the opposition perceived stronghold and Ukambani land.
