Shock as Gwanda Ogot pushes legalisation of bhang in Kenya

Researcher and political analyst Gwanda Ogot, has pushed his push of ligelising bhang in Kenya.

Speaking on KTN TV on Thursday night Ogot said that after writing a book about the importance of bhang he has considered it good to go ahead and fight its ban in Kenya in court so that it can be ligalised.

According to Ogot the law that led to the banning of bhang in Kenya was based on ignorance because no Kenyan has petitioned the Government of Kenya to ban bhang and it was just a foreign-based thing.

He further said that the West were initiating the ban of bhang in Kenya and other African countries because they have realised that it is of great use.

“Whatever there is value in the West try to control and whatever there is no value in they let it be.Over fourty nations have legalised marijuana. You know cannabis is all commercial. I want to farm this plant because it has a medicinal value that can treat 677 medical conditions and diseases. For example in my homeland it is used to treat measles,” said Ogot.

Ogot said that he cannot listen to foreigners because his ancestors proved that it is a medicinal plant. He added that is even biblical and above all, there is no other plant that can treat so many diseases like bhang.

The researcher said that the nations which have legalised bhang are far much better than Kenya and this country relies on them for so many things.

Concerning those who abuse the plant Ogot said that the government should put a regulation policy just the same way it did on alcohol.
