DP Ruto could be president in 2022

It should not be lost on Kenyans that Deputy President William Ruto is a shrewd political strategist and a schemer of no mean record.

Mr Ruto may not be a passing cloud after all. He is firm in his political conviction, and is aggressive when pursuing his political goals.

It is therefore naive to compare the former Eldoret North MP with other presidential hopefuls. Self made politicians and leaders, just like self-educated people, are too sharp and calculating to be taken on face value.

It will take enormous resources, planning and maybe God’s intervention to stop Ruto’s march to State House. That is why when Peter Kenneth was proposed as a candidate for Nairobi governorship and possible heir to President Uhuru Kenyatta there was uproar for some time, but it quickly died down.
