FA CUP: BATTLE FOR FIFTH ROUND INTENSIFIES AS 53 GOALS SCORED

A break from Premier League action saw FA fixtures continue last weekend. Needless to say, surprises ensued as well, whereby top-tier clubs were dumped by their lower league counterparts.

One of the shockers saw Liverpool dumped by Championship side club Wolver Hampton. So is Watford and Hull City.

Tottenham Hotspur fought hard to secure a win after coming from behind thanks to Son’s last minute goal that silenced League two side Wycombe Wanderers. Oxford United- a league one side club made sure Newcastle is out of the competition after a 3-1 score line.

Lincoln City- a club that participates in the National League, the fifth tier of English football, made history as they reached FA Cup fifth round for the first time since 1887. They beat Championship side club Brighton three goals to one to book a spot.

Danny Welbeck netted a brace while Theo Walcott’s hat-trick made it five as Southampton were ditched out of the competition.
