Medical Tourism isn’t a solution but a well structured problem

Elgeyo Marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomen has rubbished claims by the leader of the majority in the senate Mosses Wetangula that the speaker helped rig the votes that saw the election bill move to the next stage.

According to Murkomen the senate did its work and voted in the interest of the country. He said that there should be no blame games because all was well at the senate. The legislature warned the opposition leaders against inciting Kenyans against the government.His sentiments were echoed by the Senate Majority Leader Prof Kithure Kindiki who also said that the opposition had a chance to vote against the laws but they did not.

There were claims by the Senate Minority Leader and CORD co-principal Moses Wetangula that the speaker of the senate Ekwe Ethuro worked in conspiracy with jubilee government to see to it that the controversial elections laws are passed at the senator level.

Speaking at Capital Hill Nairobi on Friday Wetangula said that the critical vote to the bill was worn by one vote. He said the speaker rigged the vote that allowed the bill to move to the next level.The minority leader said that the speaker allowed and authorized the members to cast votes and that made the difference.

“The speaker imported bad manners of cheating in elections to the senate and rigged the vote that made this bill move to the next level. Otherwise, this bill was doomed to fail.”
According to Wetangula, the even senators from the Jubilee side were against the bill and they didn’t’ want it to go through. Mr Wetangula further said that the jubilee legislatures were motivated by the truth and the love to Kenyans to vote against the bill.

The Bungoma senator said that they are as the opposition they are going to move to court to challenge the Bill.While speaking Mr. Wentangula hinted that the speaker violated the standing orders of the senate, the constitution and the laws that govern the senate.

Meanwhile, the former vice president has called on their supporters to take to streets on 11th of January to ensure that the controversial election laws are done away with. The wiper party leader urged those under the CORD umbrella to march to Bomas that very date and take a common stand.

On the other hand Jubilee legislators led by Elgeyo Marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomen rubbished the report urging the opposition to accept defeat and move on.He said that the opposition is desperately seeking sympathy from the citizen.Murkomen further said that CORD should respect the institutions in Kenya and respect the voice of the majority.
