What students are willing to do in the name of white parties, bashes and social forums

A religion, a denomination, a storm. It dominates the comradeship regime; White parties, alcohol, drugs and sex among the teenagers is the routine over here; Paramount deal in today’s campuses. They call it social forum.

Universities in urban centers such as Nairobi, Kisumu and Eldoret are fully adopted and of late Dedan Kimathi, Chuka, Kisii and Maasai Mara are in the suit as well. As early as Thursday evening, young ladies outta campo are seen getting ready for the occasion. Ushering the member’s day, Friday into the weekend mode.

 The campus wannabees are always spotted moving in. In these grand hotels and motels. With their pouches hang on their shoulders; inside are other pants, make up kits perfumes and all that ladies' stuff you've known or ever heard of.

 At 2200h and there about, they merge dressed in all white hence the name, in a scant, lubricious manner in that they tend to seduce the male counterparts who in this case are the sponsors of this event in one way or another.

These maniacs mainly arrive in groups of three's and above. In the midnight, the party kicks off officially, when the invited guests have arrived. Expensive drinks and shisha commonly known as “ketepa" are done. The competition now commences in a big way.

Drinking and dancing as the hails takes over the airwaves in a bid to cheer up their colleagues. Emergent victors are then awarded opposite sex fellow to dance, to drink and to bring down the house. Not until every attendee is fatigued, the party is called off and exit is at the pleasure of the comrades.

Aftermath of these events and almost similar occasions have never been any good to speak of. Robbery and deaths from road accidents as a result of rogue reckless driving and all that filthy stuff. You recall the grisly ordeal at Kisii - Ogembo Highway where the unthinkable happened?

Parents and guardians are left in grief whenever their sons and daughters have become victims of circumstances. The young students especially are forced after the weekends out of the tiring varsity routine,to resume classes amid hangover and fatigue.
