President has no role in succession of Chief Justice

The presidency should in no way have a hand in choosing the next Chief Justice as that will be a grave mistake.

There should be clear separation of power. We have the Executive, the Legislature and the Judiciary. Each should be independent.

We don’t want go back to the dark days when the presidency took control of everything. The State was run by a one-man show.

The worst of the bad situation should the presidency meddling in choosing the President of the Supreme Court who is relied on when a dispute in presidential elections arises. The losing side may spill to the streets instead of rushing to the courts since the Judiciary will not be seen as independent.
