Boda boda rider left client who had been shot and robbed in the street, arrested on suspicion of the crime

Pangani police have been allowed to hold a boda boda rider who was arrested in connection with the shooting of his client in a robbery incident.

Wislay Musatfah Biage was arrested on May 6 at Pangani and was arraigned at the Makadara law courts. The police sought more time to detain him until investigations are concluded.

An officer investigating the matter told the court that on the material day, Abdinasir Said, the complainant, called the suspect to pick him from Eastliegh’s Jam Street.

In a sworn affidavit, the officer told the court that the suspect went and picked Abdinasir, whom he had known for more than a year. Abdinasir had gone to convert money in Eastleigh, then the suspect picked him up and made their way back using Juja Road.

The court heard that when they approached Pangani traffic lights, three robbers on motorbikes attacked the complainant, shot him in the stomach and stole the money from him.

The detective told the court that after the incident, the suspect zoomed off on his motorbike, leaving the complainant bleeding and did not immediately report the matter to the police.

Abdinasir was rushed to Guru Nanak Hospital where he was admitted to ICU.

The investigator said a mobile phone recovered from the suspect needs to be handed over to a mobile phone services provider to retrieve crucial information.
