Scoring 371 marks in primary school did not stop from becoming a medical doctor

Erastus Mbuno is a medical doctor based at Kitui County Referral Hospital. The 27-year-old endured a tough childhood after his father succumbed to thyroid cancer and his family had to deal with their mother’s recurring illness.

Born and raised in Koi village Kitui East sub-county Mbuno is the last born in a family of six. The bad situation at home pushed him to the medical frontline and he now specializes in preparation of chemotherapy for cancer patients. He spoke to Muno Munuve.
