MP: Give us Sh38b medical machines

The Sh38 billion medical equipment impasse should be resolved by delivering the machines to constituencies where

Kenyans are anxiously waiting for services, Gichugu MP Njogu Barua has said.

Mr Barua said since the procurement and delivery of the equipment had already been overtaken by the demands and conditions governors are making, the Government should ''deliver the machines to us''.

He said the standoff between some governors and the State over the equipment has only continued to make Kenyans in dire need of the specialised treatment suffer.

''Why would our governors take a confrontational stand against the State on the  project. I urge the Government to deliver machines to constituencies,'' Barua said.

''The ongoing public exchange between the governors and the State is a disgrace to Kenyans and must end now.''
