Leicester City to sign CSKA Moscow striker Ahmed Musa

Leicester have made a fresh bid of £22million to land CSKA Moscow striker Ahmed Musa.

Mirror Sport revealed in January that the Foxes were targeting the Nigeria

marksman to support Jamie Vardy up front. Musa has since told the Russian title winners that he wants to move to the King Power.

The 23-year-old hit 18 goals to help his side win the League ahead of FC Rostov.

CSKA rejected Leicester’s offer of around £17million during the mid-season transfer window, insisting they were not willing to lose him at that point.

They are now ready to do business, however, and CSKA Moscow manager Leonid Slutskiy has confirmed the Foxes have submitted a revised offer of €30m - £22.8m.

“The British club offered a bit less than €30m.” he said.

“Musa came to me a few days ago and asked when he [Ranieri] is back for the holidays and I told him I do not know, I do not know Ranieri.’

Asked about the prospect of a transfer now happening, he added: “I do not know for sure. It is the work of our management but I think the probability is high.”
