KCB Rugby and Kabras Sugar moved to joint top of the Kenya Cup after maintaining their perfect start to the 2022-2023 season over the weekend.
The bankers picked their third straight bonus point win after seeing off Homeboyz 29-10 while defending champions Kabras Sugar edged out Kenya Harlequin 27-12 in Kakamega last Saturday.
The wins saw them leapfrog Menengai Oilers who dropped to third in the log after missing out on a bonus point victory despite defeating Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) 26-10 in Nakuru.
KCB and arch-rivals Kabras Sugar are joint top with 15 points each and are separated by a point difference of 15 points. Kabras have 98 points while Kabras have 83 points.
The bankers have so far defeated Kenya Harlequin (38-0), MMUST (41-0) in addition to their victory over Homeboyz.
On the other hand, Kabras have seen off Catholic Monks (41-13), Mean Machine (41-0) and Quins last weekend.
Oilers are now third on the log with 14 points. The Nakuru-based club began the season with an eye-catching 72-6 win over Mean Machine before seeing off Quins 24-10 in their two bonus point victories.
Quins are bottom of the 12-team standings without a point followed by MMUST who picked a losing bonus of one point.
Catholic Monks and Mean Machine who are also winless are ninth and 10th with two points.
