Defending champions Kabras Sugar came from behind to see off Kenya Harlequin 27-12 to pick their third straight bonus point victory of the season in a Kenya Cup match played at the Kakamega Showground on Saturday.

Bryceson Adaka scored a brace as Ephraim Oduor and Brian Tanga added two more in the win that takes them to joint top with KCB on 15 points.

The visitors took an early 7-0 lead when Lucky Dewald left the Kabras back line for dead with a defense-splitting run to score and convert his try.

Kabras who lost 35-24 when the two sides last met in their final preseason match responded with a penalty converted by South African Ntabeni Dukisa to cut the gap to 7-3.

The three points gave life to the hosts who scored their first try through Adaka who touched down a corner post-try that Dukisa failed to convert. Kabras however took a narrow 8-7 lead.

Oduor would soon join the score sheet landing another corner post try that Dukisa failed to convert again with Kabras leading 13-7.

Quins would respond with their own try to cut the gap to 13-12 at halftime after Dewald missed the twos.

In the final half, it was all Kabras as Brian Tanga and Adaka added to the score sheet for a 27-12 win.

Victory takes Kabras joint top of the log with KCB on 15 points. KCB saw off Homeboyz 24-10.

In Nakuru, Menengai Oilers failed to collect a bonus point victory despite coming from behind to defeat MMUST 26-10.

Oilers scored three penalties and three tries in the win and drop to third on 14 points.
