KCB Rugby Club on Saturday edged out Homeboyz C 29-10 in an oscillating Kenya Cup clash at the Ruaraka Sports Club in their last home match of the year to extend their perfect league starts in their 2022-2023 campaign.

Kenya Simbas utility back Darwin Mukidza drew the first try in the fifth minute which he later converted to give the bankers an early lead of 7-0 lead.

Homeboyz would respond three minutes later as Brian Juma converted a penalty to earn the first points of the game.
Brian Mutuki gave Homeboyz the lead in the 16th minute with a breakaway try which was successfully converted by Juma to give them a lead of 10-7.

The hosts responded with Jack Odero's try, with Darwin's conversion to regain the lead. At the interval, the bankers were leading 14-10.
In the second half, the scrum-half Samuel Asati was sent off after a high tackle on Anthony Omondi.

Bob Wahinya, who together with Steve Wamai and Andrew Amonde grabbed a try each to give the Bankers a comfortable win of 29-10 at the den, replaced Asati.

"Homeboyz really came for us, we had anticipated an orthodox game but they really pushed us back but, in the end, we are happy for the win," said Asati after the win.

KCB will face Nakuru RFC in their last encounter of the year next week.

Meanwhile, Nakuru RFC picked their first win of the season after seeing off Strathmore University Leos 26-12
