Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has told Azimio leader Raila Odinga to support Kalonzo Musyoka's bid for presidency in 2027 or forget about the Kamba support.

The governor and her deputy Francis Mwangangi, urged Raila and his allies to respect Ukambani leaders.

Speaking during public participation on funds allocation at Kathiani chief's office, yesterday, Wavinya told the Azimio leader to reciprocate Kalonzo's past support or be ready to part ways with the Kamba community.

"Kalonzo has sacrificed for long for Raila's bid for presidency, it is now his turn to reciprocate by supporting our leader," said the governor.

She urged the ODM leader to caution his allies against hurling insults at the Kamba community. "Negative criticism against the Kamba community should stop forthwith or we part ways and call it a day," said Mr Mwangangi.

Wavinya reiterated that governors have an obligation to work with the national government of the day for the sake of development.

The governor said the national government had offered to support many development projects in the county and she will not let that opportunity pass.

"There is nothing that will stop me from working with the national government for the sake of the people of Machakos who elected me and my deputy to office," she said.

Mwangangi said the Constitution stipulates that counties should work with the national government.

He said those uncomfortable with the governor working with President William Ruto's administration should get used to the situation since she has to fulfill her mandate.
