Two medical officers; Dr. Chweya Onkoba, a Pharmacist in Nyamira, and Redemptor Asira, a lead ambulance administrator in Kisii died Tuesday morning over an unknown illness.

Dr. Onkoba died suddenly on Tuesday, October 24, after experiencing breathing difficulties.

He had checked in to one of the private hospitals in Kisii town early Monday morning, treated and discharged.

According to a family member, on Monday night, the deceased was rushed back to the Private hospital where he was admitted. He passed on a few hours after his admission.

Dr. Onkoba lost his mother two weeks ago and three months after he got married at a wedding at Kisii Central SDA Church.

Asira, who is a trained Nurse has been working at the Kisii County Ambulatory Department for more than five years.

She was confirmed dead on Monday night after staying at the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital ICU unit for three days.

On Wednesday she walked to the Kisii Bus Terminus to pick her Grade 7 daughter who had left school for the December Holidays.

While at the bus terminus and after receiving her daughter, she collapsed and later on regained consciousness before being rushed to KTRH.

Her elder sister Felicitah Asira said the deceased had no known medical condition.

"She never complained of any medical condition. We are shocked that we could lose a dear one after ailing for three days," she said.
