Ex-AFC Leopards chairman and presidential hopeful Dan Mule has urged aspirants to roll up their sleeves and prepare forthcoming Football Kenya Federation (FKF) elections slated for September 19th, 2020.

Mule’s sentiments come days after the FKF Electoral Board released the calendar and guidelines for the upcoming elections.

On Tuesday, August 11, The FKF Electoral Board Chai Kentice Tikolo released the Electoral road map at FKF offices, Goal Project Nairobi.

“Winning isn't everything but losing is nothing. As we head for the forthcoming FKF elections, it’s not a matter of life and death. As the FKF Electoral Board released the roadmap and guidelines for the upcoming federation’s elections a section of aspiring candidates instead of rolling up their sleeves to compete they are headed for a contest in the court corridors,” said Mule in a statement.

The former AFC Leopards Chair also acknowledged the fact that there has to be a loser in the forthcoming election, and that the rules may not appear favourable to everyone. But if they meet required standards then the elections should proceed.

“We cannot all win and we cannot all occupy the limited spaces or posts on offer and therefore there’s need of being prepared to either win or lose and above all there’s always next time. You can never please everybody, and therefore in any contest, the rules may not seem favourable and palatable to all but as long as they meet the bare minimum the competition is good to go. In any contest there has to be a winner and a loser and dragging the process is an injustice to football, the youth and its beneficiaries,” he explained.

He urged candidates to embrace accepting outcomes and avoid moving to court, derailing and eventually disrupting elections.

“The FKF elections have been disrupted twice in which candidates are taking advantage if the court process to cause chaos in the football management democracy at the expense of players. In my view, the federation has conflict resolution mechanisms which need to be exploited instead of turning to courts for justice,” said Mule.
