Liverpool are back from Qatar - and there is no time for rest over the festive period.

The Reds were back in training at Melwood on Christmas Eve with a huge Boxing Day clash with second placed Leicester City fast approaching.

Just three days after becoming FIFA Club World Cup champions, Jurgen Klopp put his side through his paces.

And despite still working hard over Christmas, it was all smiles with spirits high amongst the side.

Here's five things we noticed from Liverpool's first training session back in England after lifting their latest silverware.

1) It's not quite like Qatar...

After enjoying summer winter heat in Qatar, the Reds were back in colder conditions.

Players adjusted to the cold winter by putting on their hats and gloves as well as a number of layers.

A bit different to the climate they faced in Qatar just a few days ago...

2) Helping hand

With the need for extra layers, Sadio Mane appeared to encounter trouble getting his fitness vest on over his training top.

Step forward, Jurgen Klopp.

The gaffer was pictured giving the attacker a helping hand to dress him for the session and ensure his technology tracked his movements and strain.

3) Festive friends

Christmas can be a tough time for footballers as they face a hectic period, limiting the time with their families.

But the Liverpool team are clearly close - and they all appeared happy to be back in training with one another over the festive period.

The chemistry between the squad has manifested itself on the pitch - nowhere more than between Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah in the attack.

Reds fans will hope their chemistry is again apparent on the pitch at the King Power Stadium on Thursday.

4) Friendly rivalry

There remains a friendly rivalry at Liverpool - and their two biggest stars were spotted battling it out in training.

Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk were fighting for the ball but with a smile on their face as the competition brings the best out of Klopp's men.

Both men will need to be on form at Leicester, with Van Dijk tasked with stopping the in-form Jamie Vardy and Salah looking to breakdown a rock-solid defence.

5) All is forgotten

Youngsters Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones have had quite a journey in recent weeks.

The pair both featured with the first-team in Qatar and are being tipped for big things as they remain part of Klopp's plans.

They recently hit the headlines when they exchanged words in an on-field clash in a recent Under-23s game, but they soon put it behind them and downplayed the issue on social media.

Elliott and Jones posed for a picture together in training as they show they are still friends with everything forgotten - and they could have a part to play as Klopp manages his resources over the festive period.
