Manchester United's players are concerned Paul Pogba's recent penalty miss could have a knock-on effect to his commitment to the club.

The Frenchman saw his second-half spot-kick saved by Wolves keeper Rui Patricio on Monday, as the sides shared a draw at Molyneux.

Marcus Rashford had scored from the spot the week prior against Chelsea, and the decision for Pogba to take the kick against Wolves was heavily criticised after the match.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has since reportedly made Rashford the designated penalty taker - but the rest of the squad fear Pogba may not respond well to the decision.

The Sun report that United's players are worried the 26-year-old is not in the right frame of mind since the incident.

Pogba has only recently showed an increased commitment to the cause at United, after announcing earlier in the summer that he was keen for a new challenge elsewhere.

United have done a good job of fending off interest from Real Madrid and Juventus - who baulked at the Red Devils' asking price for the midfielder - but now must pick him back up after his miss.

His teammates feel Pogba may now be reconsidering a move away from Old Trafford with the European transfer deadline still over a week away.

It is unlikely that any potential suitors will stump up the £180m demanded by United for his services.

But the United dressing room are anxious that they could be left with a player who does not want to be at the club and one who feels unsupported by his manager.

Solskjaer's decision to strip Pogba of any penalty responsibility could be seen as undermining a player who feels he is the main man at the club.

The Norwegian is well within his rights - as Pogba has missed four of his last nine spot-kicks - but whether the player sees it that way is a different matter, and remains to be seen.
