Manny Pacquiao has launched a fresh attack on Floyd Mayweather on social media as he pushes for a rematch.

The pair, who met in the most lucrative boxing match of all-time back in 2015, have become embroiled in a fresh war of words amid rumours they could meet in the ring again.

Pacquiao called out Mayweather in a lengthy post after beating Keith Thurman last weekend, prompting Mayweather to accuse him of using his name.

But the Filipino fighter has now reversed the argument after his name was mentioned in one of Mayweather's tweets.

He responded: "If you think using my name in your social media posts will make you relevant, be my guest. #FunnyMoney "

Mayweather had posted a post explaining his role as an entrepreneur and his business exploits.

Their new war of words erupted after Pacquiao's win over Thurman, when Mayweather posted on Instagram urging people to stop associating his name with Mayweather's.

He claimed Pacquiao's name should "hold its own weight" in a lengthy outburst, leading to the 40-year-old to urge him to come out of retirement on Twitter.

He wrote: ".@FloydMayweather You come to my fight and then use my name in a post but I’m the one that is trying to stay relevant? If you want to be relevant again... #MayPac2."

Meanwhile, Pacquiao's trainer, Freddie Roach, has accused Mayweather of running scared of a rematch having been at ringside for his impressive performance against the previously unbeaten Thurman.

"I'm not sure. Mayweather seems to be a little evasive," Roach told PBC.

"He was real quiet. He didn't stay at the fight after the decision was announced and call anyone out like he usually does.

"I think Manny scared him a little with that performance."
