With the European transfer pool shrinking by the day due to the clubs’ shift from creating talent to purchasing, teams have already started searching for the best deals across the world.

Various managers seek to find balance come next season by doing business early in the window to avoid the usual last minute rush which sometimes leads to wrong decisions. Barcelona have already secured the signing of Frankie De Jong from Ajax and is expected to join them when the window opens.

With few matches left play, here are some of the transfer stories that are developing in England as clubs get set for a mammoth scramble for the planet’s best players.
