With only North Eastern yet to pick team, other regions are ready for showdown in Embu.

Songs of jubilation and tears of joy as well as heartbreak marked the end of Term One Games in the Western, Nyanza, Central, and Eastern regions at the weekend.

Focus now shifts to this year’s national Term One Games set for Embu next month.

The other regions that have picked teams for the competition are Coast, Nairobi, and Rift Valley.

North Eastern have yet to hold their regional finals.

National champions Kakamega High (rugby 15s), St Anthony’s Boys Kitale (hockey), Laiser Hill (basketball), Kaya Tiwi (basketball), and St Anne’s Sega (handball) successfully defended their regional titles.

On the other hand, 2017 national girls’ hockey champions St Cecilia Misikhu and boys’ handball winners St Ignatius Mukumu lost to their Western rivals Tigoi and St Luke’s Kimilili respectively.

Kakamega High will defend their rugby title against 2003 national winners St Mary’s Yala from Nyanza, last year’s bronze medallists Upper Hill from Nairobi, and Rift Valley's Menengai.

Others are Eastern champions Miathene, Kangaru, Alliance from Central, and Coast’s Galana.
