The eight-time World 100 metres Olympic champion Usain Bolt is considering swapping his career as a sprinter to a professional footballer. A British media outlet Daily Mail indicates that the Jamaican Olympic icon is determined to make his career switch a success after successfully training with the South African Premier League side Mamelodi Sundowns on Monday.

The 31 year old has been on a preparation path to stay in shape for his trial set for March with Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund.

While this may seem like a publicity stunt to many soccer lovers who are familiar with the legendary sprinter, Bolt has kept his aspiration to grace the football pitch for a while.

His interview with the Daily Press is a depiction of a man craving to achieve some pertinent course that will make him complete.

A British blog quotes Bolt talking about his scheduled medical with the Signal Iduna club.

“That is something that I want to do, as you said I have trials with Borussia Dortmund so that's something that is on the table,”

With heavily built and robust body, Bolt is said to be having a powerful left foot that he banks so much on to put his career as a soccer player forward. Even though his preferred position remains unclear, his dream can only be read through his desire and how busy he was at the training ground with South African side.

After having come to the fore as a Manchester United fan, Bolt has never concealed his admiration for the former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson. As revealed by the media reports, the sprinter has a dream to play for Manchester club.

“One of my biggest dreams is to sign for Manchester United,' he said earlier in January when addressing the British media the Express.  He then proceeded to open up his options by declaring that 'If Dortmund say I'm good enough, I'll crack on and train hard’.

He is banking on Manchester legend Ferguson to break the duck.

'I've spoken to Alex Ferguson and I told him he needs to put in a good word. He told me if I get fit and ready, he will see what he can do.
